In November of 2004, The Joshua Harr Shane Foundation turned to the people of New Jersey in hopes of raising money to purchase phone cards for our troops. Using local media sources, such as Channel NJ12, The Trentonian, The Home News, Tribune, The Windsor Heights Herald, and the Jewish Star, they were able to raise over $8,000 in just a few short months. The Joshua Harr Shane Foundation donated the initial $5,000 for the fist phone card purchases. Over 4,000 cards were distributed through Fort Dix with the help and assistance on Joan Cole, a community service office at Fort Dix. We hop that these phone cards helped connect our soldiers with their family and friends over the holidays.
